Handmade Natural Soap by women in the village in Togean Islands Indonesia.

Togean Natural is a Handmade Soap is specially made in respond to conditions in villages in remote areas in Togean, Sulawesi due to pandemic. It's a small movement led by Sihkami Denting, Founder of Togo Eang Ecolodge together with women from villages in Togean Islands.

We are developing natural products without preservatives, coloring, and other chemical additives. Most of materials are grown locally such as Coconut, Patchouli, and Seaweed.

We are using Coconut oil as carrier that made by hand by women in Tumbulawa village, and our soap is made using cold process saponification by women in Siatu village.

In remote villages, women have not been valued as an asset in the family. They are often left behind to either work in the kitchen or farm to help the family. Some women are abused and mentally and physically by their husband. Or they are a victim of an early marriage problems.

School is luxury here, some kids have to travel by boat about 10 km to go to school. As a result, many women are married in the age of 15, have kids but then left out by their husband. One of our women do not read as she left school at a very early age.

Our group contains of 10 women from Tumbulawa and Siatu village that currently is learning everyday, we have weekly meeting every Tuesday and Friday to do soap making workshops and to produce our own oils. Tumbulawa is one of biggest production village of Patchouli plants. They have been growing them for years. While Siatu village as a floating village of ethnic Bajau, makes end meet by cultivating sea animals.

We are using Coconut oil as carrier that made by hand by women in Tumbulawa village and our soap is made using cold process saponification by women in Siatu village.

pre-order soap

We believe in quality over quantity - we learn everyday to create quality soap for your home. Hence all of our soap are made by pre-ordering with 1 month of production until we ready to ship you soap locally and internationally.
There are 3 different kinds of soap:

Pure Coconut

For you who are sensitive to any chemical ingredients, colorants, or fragrance you can try this pure coconut soap with ingredients such a pure unrefined Coconut Oil, Water and Alkali. Our coconut oil making process is very traditional only using hands and slow cook with wood fire. The oils process takes 2 days!

Coconut Charcoal

Charcoal is believed to treats oily skin, reducing acne and pores and used as anti aging agent in skin care products. We are using locally grown with no pesticide coconut charcoal. We convert them into powder and put them into the carrier oils. We can create Coconut Charcoal soap using either 1 charcoal grey colorant or 2 swirl color grey and white from the oil.

Seaweed & Patchouli

This is all-time favorite soap we have by far - we grow our own seaweed of Eucheuma Cottonii and our own patchouli. Patchouli oil contains a variety of skin benefits and can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, and skin imperfections. They also can also promote a smooth and glowing complexion. While Seaweed extract regulates oil production, exfoliates, brightens, and moisturizes dry, dull skin.
