To reuse food waste and turn into healthy fertilizer for farms. An educational workshop for farmers.
Nutrient rich food and agricultural waste is often burned and contributes to unnecessary pollution. Simple, low cost and effective composting techniques can be taught to the locals so that they can reuse the nutrients to further support sustainable crop production while reducing the need to import compost from the mainland.
Things we need to prepare:
· Cartons and containers to pick up waste
· Wheel-barrel to carry waste
· Gardening tools like shovel etc.
· Bags to collect organic materials
Organic compost is relatively easy to make and everyone in the village could do it. We will teach the families how to make organic compost from their home so they can use it for their garden or farm.
